Kidnapped Girl Found Years Later
75A very touching story that as of recently has not seen the light of day for 18 years. A Jaycee Dugard was kidnapped at the age of 11 and has not been seen or heard from since. Of course the assumption is that after about 48 hours from a kidnapping case police and everyone else have to assume the child is dead or long gone. Of course after a long time trying to cope with it her parent finally accepted that they would never see their daughter again. She was abducted on June 10th, 1991 by 2 people in a gray Sedan. 18 years later she was found luckily, thanks to the abilities of officers to notice something was wrong.
How She Was Kidnapped
Jaycee Dugard was taken within a few short blocks from her home. She was heading to the bus stop when she was just thrown into a gray sedan and not seen for 18 years. This really hits home because well, it was so close to her home. It goes to show that bad things really can happen even this close to home. Be careful, don't suffocate your kids but do be careful with them when no one is watching because it seems to me as if something like this could just as easily happen to anyone else.
When She Was Gone
The men that kidnapped her apparently raped her and kept her in a tent behind their house. They weren't very conscious about how they did it either as she gave birth to two children in their backyard. All of this without ever visiting a doctor or hospital. So these children only know life within these men's back yard and a scared to death young woman. This is a horrible situation to be in and I can't even imagine being forced to do some of the things these men could have done or what they actually did do even.
How They Were Caught
The men got caught because one wanted to hand out fliers in a nearby campus, while doing this he thought it would be a good idea to bring his two daughters along. Police took instant notice to these children they have never seen and with this man that one of them was sure was a convicted sex offender, they decided to look into it. Alas he was a convicted sex offender and this was reason enough for him to be arrested seeing as how according to his records does not have a daughter. So they came to his house and it was to their horror what they would find in their backyard.
Parent's Reaction
I couldn't even imagine thinking that my daughter was dead for 18 years and then finding out she was alive. Though all of the things that happened to her but at least she would be alive, I would definitely cry. Of course that is what Jaycee Dugard's parents did, they said they cried for like at least 10 minutes together when they first found out about their daughter.
What Would You Do?
What would you do in this situation? How would you handle this kind of a situation for the daughter or the mother!? They are all brave people and I pray that they can all lead normal lives after one person decides to make the world a horrible place like this.

I didn't believe it when I first read it, it just seems so unjust. However the rapist did get his chance to tell his story and phoenixarizona does a good job telling the rapists story.

Wow seriously? That's crazy! I bet there will be a movie based off of this guys life, kind of like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre except it might make it as a Lifetime special.
It's sad but gotta admit something this sinister and crazy would make a good movie, too soon yea but later... much later
This is an amazing story. The young woman and her children will have a long road ahead of them. But at least she now has her original family to help her on this road.
This is such a sad story and I can't believe Jaycee bonded with that creep. I hope they give him the death sentence or at least life in prison with no parole!! I use to live near Antioch and you would never think anything like this would happen there. I really hope that pervert didn't rape her daughters as well.

Yea thats what im for sure her parents thought had happened to her. Which im sure they were grateful when they found out that she wasn't killed. Although that must have been a very emotional moment. She is very lucky because things could have been worse very true... Although I wonder how she wasn't found sooner? He was a convicted sex offender why didn't anyone kind of like regulate that? Wouldn't police check up on him or something and notice something strange going on?
I guess thats kind of too much to ask for although it would have saved her a lot of trauma.
It is so wonderful to hear that Jaycee is reunited with her family. Stories coming out sound like she is adapting well and we can only hope so.
First and foremost thanks mate!!! Secondly quick update. Jaycee had stockholms Jaysee's daughters angel and starlet believed that Jaycee was their older sister Alissa. This is the really sick part Phillip Garrido was incarcerated for 4 months (while dugard was in the back yard) and Nancy Garrido didn't let her go or right the wrong done by her. This for me personally asked the question, was it phillip garridos idea to take Jaycee? Is this more a matter of the hand that rocks the cradle?
Me personally noone would ever have the chance to take any of my daughters. I walk them in and out of school. My children are always within "grabbing distance" of me and could not posibly be far away enough for someone to survive the attempt of taking them.

Yes I agree completely, I mean although its kind of hard to decide like when to give your child more freedoms such as walking to and from school... its stuff like this that would make me not want to give them freedoms like that. Though it really isn't fair to them it just all depends on how well I think that they could stay away from a situation like that.
Like some of that amazingly loud noisemaker things that you push a button and a siren goes off, I would make them have one of those on their person at all times just in case. This should help them get assistance from anyone in the area... although I would still be worried sick day after day because of stories like this.
Just another reason to never leave home though eh phoenixarizona? :P I guess if we heeded all of the warnings I wouldn't drink milk, eat eggs, and I would vote for every election. But you don't see me doing any of those unless I do or don't want to. I guess it is just different when innocent children become involved.
Reminds me of a story last year or so where a girl was kidnapped at age 8 and lived as a sex slave/prisoner in a house down the street until the age of 14, when they left the door unlocked and she ran out the door. She ran home a few houses down and her mother answered the door. It's unreal some of the stuff you hear about. Good post.
