How to Increase Concentration at Work

Sometimes people can get into bad habits when working such as checking your Facebook all the time or sending funny pictures to your friends. This is all fine and dandy in moderation, but sometimes you really just need to concentrate at work. I will try to assist you in doing this so you are a much more valuable employee and hopefully will have a lot less stress when working because you will actually get your work done!

Understanding and Isolating Distractions

There are a lot of distractions in this world, you need to recognize and isolate them from your work life. Some things such as checking text messages, email that isn't work related, Facebook or other social sites. Find all these such distractions and regulate them.

Once you have a list of all the items that distract you from your work now its time to come up with a system that will work for you. For example you work from 9-5 lets pretend and you check your Facebook 100 times in this period because you are addicted and don't get much work done then this simple compromise with yourself could be the solution. Allowing yourself say 10 minutes on Facebook at 1pm on the dot will get you up to date and able to make the day still seem like its moving faster than it actually is.

You could also use this as a reward for getting your work done. I find this to be the most effective way to increase your concentration at work. Lets say you need to type up a report by 2 PM well if you get it done and proofed before then give yourself a pat on the back and check your Facebook then get right back to work! This reward system won't work for some people who aren't able to discipline themselves and are more lenient with themselves.

If Those Don't Help

There is no magical way to help you concentrate more at work. But most jobs that I know of this applies with, but the same premises applies to virtually everything. Concentration is take out all distractions, so do this and you will find it a lot easier to concentrate at your job!

Very true it is easier if you like work, but still there are distractions like checking email and stuff but you get more work done if you just DO IT with nothing like checking others facebook updates and such things. You build momentum when working thats why working for 3-4 hour blocks or something like that then rewarding yourself with a quick peek at your email or facebook will hopefully inspire you to work better with a little self control.

However, not everyone is blessed with a job they like anyways :P and they don't want to do their job BAD though.
