The best solution that I can tell you for getting rid of bird mites is to get the bird mite control products and use them as directed, as well as cleaning everything in your house every single day for a week at least. This would entail vacuuming the floor, cleaning the walls, and ceiling of you whole house every day, didn't say it would be easy did I? Throw away anything you don't want to keep anymore, now is as good a time as any to clean out everything you were meaning to throw away anyways right? Throwing away some things will reduce the number of places they can hide so your work should be a lot less.
