Bird mites are a very much so, unknown parasite that plague a growing number of people every single day. You will know if you get some bird mites as they cause lots of red bumps on your skin with itching and scabbing on the skin. They are the most active from morning until night, although sometimes they alter their active times depending on their environment. If your house is infested with bird mites they will drive you crazy and cause you to loose a lot of sleep, but I will teach you a few tips to help you get rid of them. There is no magic bullet if you do get bird mites, kind of like getting rid of head lice, it takes patience and constantly cleaning.

Be Careful Around Spring!

If you haven't been infested with bird mites yet, then you are lucky. In order to keep in this way be very careful about what you get into and what you bring into your house around spring time especially. Due to the increase in birds and nice warm temperature and humidity levels they will be around a lot more. It is always best to be extra prepared in spring, use pest control around your house, and have some icy hot around just in case. Since bird mites hate menthol, icy hot will help keep them off of you should you suspect you might have them, and the nice cool sensation will help alleviate the itchy feeling.

Bird Mites Hiding Locations in Your House

Finding where they most like to hide so you can drop the chemical warfare on them is going to make you feel better, and hopefully get rid of a good majority from your house. They mostly infest and congregate in areas where humans gather and stay for extended periods of time, computer room, bedroom, living room, you get the idea. They will stay in these rooms in any small crack or crevice they can find to stay out of sight so if you get some pesticide for killing them you will want to start flooding all cracks and crevices in your house.

Getting Rid of Bird Mites

The best solution that I can tell you for getting rid of bird mites is to get the bird mite control products and use them as directed, as well as cleaning everything in your house every single day for a week at least. This would entail vacuuming the floor, cleaning the walls, and ceiling of you whole house every day, didn't say it would be easy did I? Throw away anything you don't want to keep anymore, now is as good a time as any to clean out everything you were meaning to throw away anyways right? Throwing away some things will reduce the number of places they can hide so your work should be a lot less. Remember if all else fails, call a good exterminator that is willing to do follow ups because rarely will they be taken care of in one pass.

Hmmm, they are so tiny! My friend gets small red bumps during season changes and cannot figure out what they are caused by, I'll be sure to tell her about this!

Its possible they could be bird mites... but trust me they aren't something that just come and go. Many people think that all the little bugs that are on your skin look like scabies! Then again it is worth looking into at the very least, look for some birds nests that will most likely be the root of the problem.

Bird mites are quite a nuisance and need to be dealt with organic methods so that no further harm is caused to the ecology.
